Understanding and supporting dyspraxia
Many people are familiar with and use the term dyspraxia to describe the difficulty children and adults have when they struggle to plan and organise their movements. It is sometimes used interchangeably with the term Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Typically the main focus is on poor coordination and fine motor skills.
Occupational Therapist, Kim Griffin aims to broaden our knowledge of dyspraxia as a sensory processing difficulty and help us to understand the wider impact dyspraxia can have on skills. Her session also explores strategies that can be used to support dyspraxic children at school and at home.
