Supporting pupils’ SEMH with Therapeutic Storywriting
Dr Trisha Waters explains how Therapeutic Storywriting Groups can support the social, emotional and mental health of pupils by working with the symbolic imagery in pupils’ own story writing.
Case studies are used to illustrate the underlying theory and show how the approach helps pupils process difficult emotions. A summary of the evidence-base on the impact of the intervention on both emotional and academic literacy is also provided.
