Developing emotional literacy and self-regulation skills for children with SLCN
Children with Speech Language and Communications Needs (SLCN) are more likely to have difficulties with developing emotional literacy and self-regulation skills.
In this session, specialist SLCN Advisor, Sarah Billingham helps you learn how to plan meaningful opportunities for children to develop key skills which support their self-awareness, expression, ability to select appropriate support strategies, and perspective taking.
These approaches are based on Sarah’s expertise as a specialist speech and language teacher with a focus on emotional regulation, as well as 18 years’ experience supporting children with SEND.
