Philippa Vince / Director, Toucan Education Ltd
Philippa Vince is a SEND Consultant, Dyslexia Assessor and Managing Director at Toucan Education, which she set up 6 years ago. Her company provides dyslexia diagnosis, specialist dyslexia support, behaviour and educational consultancy for parents, individuals, companies, state and private education throughout the UK. Philippa says, “I’ve always been interested in children who find it hard to read and write. There’s always an underlying issue and once you find the route of the problem and build up a rapport with the child, their confidence grows and the barriers to learning begin to break down.”
Philippa has been teaching for over 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience within the special educational needs sector. She worked as a teacher in mainstream settings for 8 years. This was followed by 10 years as a deputy head teacher in a specialist SEMH school. She is AMBDA (Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association) registered and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator) qualified. She is also able to assess for Dyslexia and for access arrangements for GCSE and GCE.
