Creating a safe learning environment
A safe learning environment is an educational setting where students feel secure, supported and respected in their pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. This feeling of safety is based on physical, emotional, and social aspects – all of which contribute to a positive learning experience.
Learners who experience emotional, social, and physical safety are more likely to engage in learning, respond positively to challenge, and experience improved well-being. How can you ensure all your learners feel safe in school?
This session from nasen’s Ffion Robinson will help you create an environment in which learners feel safe. The training covers the educator-learner relationship; the role of environmental factors; creating physically safe learning environments; relationships among learners; and balancing safety and independence.
